Quick Gun Murugan (QGM) Releases TomorrowQuick Gun Murugan (QGM), a western cowboy spoof comedy film releasing releasing this friday all over. Telugu film comedy hero Dr. Rajendra Prasad plays the south indian cowboy in the film along with southern hottie Rambha (who plays ‘Mango Dolly’ in the film). Nassar plays the role of villain.

The readers might be aware of ‘Quick Gun Murugan’ spoof series on Channel V to promote the channel during 1994.  Shashank Ghosh who was the creative head for Channel V, introduced the character ‘QUICK GUN MURUGAN’ to the world. Now, he himself directed the full length film for the first time. The movie will be a wild, action-packed western spoof with loads of cartoonish violence and some truly memorable scenes, making Shashank Ghosh a young comedic talent to watch.

The main theme of the film is said to be the fight between vegetarianism and non-vegetarianism. Quick Gun Murugan vows to save cows because he thinks he is a cowboy where are Nassar play the role of the owner of a fast-food restaurant that promotes beef eating.

The character had a cult following, and made funny and catchy ‘punch’ dialogues like ‘Mind it’, ‘leave the ladies’ and ‘We are like this only’ popular. Recently, the character has inspired a sequence from Om Shanti Om where Shah Rukh Khan does a take-off saying ‘Mind it’.

Rajendra Prasad claims it is one of the most novel roles he has performed in his 32 year acting career. The film also stars Sandhya Mridul, Vinay Pathak, Raju Sundaram (who is called Rowdy MBA) and Ranvir Shorey (in a guest appearance).

Quick Gun Murugan has been showcased at the London Film Festival, the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles, the New York Asian Film Festival and in The Museum of Modern Art, New York (MoMa).

In India, the movie is releasing in English along with 3 other regional languages: Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
