Peranmai (2009) is a Tamil forthcoming film directed by film director, S.P.Jananathan starring Jayam Ravi in the lead role. It began its first schedule on March 12, 2008.
Early indications suggested that Navya Nair, Karthika and Akshaya would portray three of the heroines but all three have denied their participation in the film. Jayam Ravi has lost weight for the role of a forest officer in this film. He plays a one-man army in this film similar to that of Sylvester Stallone in Rambo. He sputters for the well-being of people in the lower districts of southern part of Tamil Nadu. Debutants Saranya, Tanusika, Varsha, Vasundra, Liyasree play the lead female roles. Young and hot actress Akshaya has opted out of Peranmai starring Jayam Ravi. The actress known for her seductive appearance and bold acting in films Kalaba Kadhalan and Pazhaniyappa Kalloori was booked for Peranmai a month ago by director S.P.Jananathan. There were 5 heroines to act with Ravi and Akshaya was one of them. The film also has an elephant which is said to have a huge part in the film.
Right from the beginning of his career, Jayam Ravi has been accumulating success with just remakes under his home production. And now hoping for a great break of his characterization, he has geared up with Peranmai. Making successful ventures with prior flicks like Iyarkai and E, SP Jananathan is set to brim up with a stunning action movie that has a good message for the masses. Major portion of the film will shot in thick forests of Mancholai, Pabanasam and Ambasamudram of Tamil Nadu.
The film starring ‘Jayam’ Ravi has successfully brought the present Terminator, Roland Kickinger to play the villain. Roland Kickinger is the replacement to the famous Arnold Schwarzenegger for the now legendary Terminator series. Arnold Schwarzenegger is now the Governor of California and has bid adieu to acting. Roland Kickinger, also an Austrian won the Mr. Universe title in the year 1995 after which he worked for about twenty Hollywood films. Since he has the capacity to be mighty powerful on screen he has been cast as the replacement for big Arnie to play cyborg T 800 in Terminator 4 (Terminator Salvation). Interestingly the star of the to-be-released Terminator 4, who stands six feet and five inches tall will play the villain of ‘Peranmai’ and probably will be bashed up by ‘Jayam’ Ravi. Should be a sight for sore eyes….
N.K. Ekamabaram, who at present is busy shooting for Kandasamy starring Vikram in lead role, will can the shots along with S.R.Satish Kumar. Cameras with specially designed features from Germany will be used to shoot stunt scenes in a stylish way. Vidhyasagar will tune in melodies to the songs. Karunaas under the banner of Ayangaran International produces the film.
